Asti started fencing after her three children were born thinking it would be an excellent form of exercise. It was not long after that she discovered how much she enjoys it. Under the tutelage of her coaches Stanley Yee and Master Zachary Kotlyar training became a daily part of her routine.
When asked why she likes it so much Asti would say, “Fencing is often described as being similar to physical chess. You have to study and understand your opponent then apply all your skill and knowledge to defeat them. I like it because itʼs challenging, fun, a great workout, plus I get to play with a sword. But really from fencing I have learned more than just how to wield a sword -- I have learned a good number of things that I can apply to many facets of my life. Including the knowledge that I have a great deal more to learn...”
Asti trains at Dragon Fencing Academy, fences competitively at the National Level and is training to qualify to compete at the International Level. She assists in fencing demonstrations, coaching, workshops, and special events. Asti has appeared at Much Music TV and City TV.
